Project Hofhegnenberg Castle: Press release
Ceiling frescoes in Hofhegnenberg Castle included in the “Corpus of Baroque Ceiling Painting in Germany”

The European Heritage Project opens the castle church of St. Mary at Hofhegnenberg Castle to the German Documentation Centre for Art History – Image Archive University of Marburg.

The German Documentation Centre for Art History photographed the historic ceiling paintings of the castle church of St. Mary dating back to the 17th century as part of its “Corpus of Baroque Ceiling Painting in Germany” project. These images now complement the inventory of the German Documentation Centre for Art History – Image Archive Marburg, which has collected more than 1.7 million photographic images since 1913 and is one of the world’s largest special archives for European art and architecture.
