At the moment, master nativity builder Rudolf Aitenbichler is working on a big, special project: he is restoring the “Hocker Krippe – a family nativity scene from Lauffen an der Traun – which dates back to the 18th century. This came about as part of the European Heritage Project through the initiative of Peter Löw, who acquired the Kaiserin- Elisabeth-Hospital in Lauffen, which is now being restored.
When the European Heritage Project acquired the 17th-century palazzo on the Grand Canal, it was already clear that the building would need extensive restoration and renovation work to restore it to its former glory.
The Christmas market (Kipferlmarkt) was not allowed to take place – shopping with needy single parents was.

Located on the upper part of the Hanfelder Berg, the stately Palais Sonnenhof overlooks Lake Starnberg and the entire chain of Alps from Berchtesgaden to Lake Constance.
