Investor Peter Löw and gastronomy professional Heinz Hanner last week invited visitors to an on-site inspection: The restructuring of the “Lacknerhaus” is progressing and the Berggericht restaurant is due to open at the end of the year.
The former poorhouse on the market square in Lauffen, known as Lauffen 15, has seen better days. But now a new opportunity has presented itself for the historic walls as well as for the entire market centre of Lauffen.

The dilapidated condition of the interior of the building was already evident from the facade. Years of vacancy had significantly affected the structural fabric. The roof structure threatened to collapse, the masonry showed frost and water damage, and the interior was partially infested with pests.

Munich investor Peter Löw has big plans for the centre of Lauffen: As part of The European Heritage Project, Löw, whose wife was born in Lauffen, wants to restore a number of buildings and redesign the square in front of the church.
