Located on the upper part of the Hanfelder Berg, the stately Palais Sonnenhof overlooks Lake Starnberg and the entire chain of Alps from Berchtesgaden to Lake Constance. When the European Heritage Project acquired the Sonnenhof in 2002, the once noble and glamorous villa had already stood empty for decades and was only sporadically used as a backdrop for film shoots.
