With around 90 enthusiastic listeners, the reading by Prof. Dr Dr Peter Löw from his book *Flusenflug – Die Bekenntnisse eines Firmenjägers* on 16 October at Frankenberg Castle was a great success. The evening combined personal insights, entrepreneurial experiences and a lively exchange in a unique historical setting.
Peter Löw took the audience on a journey through more than three decades of his entrepreneurial career. *Flusenflug* chronicles his journey since the early 1990s, when he devoted himself to the acquisition, restructuring and further development of underperforming companies – a field that was still largely unexplored in the German-speaking world at the time.
The book is far more than a business success story: through numerous anecdotes, Löw recounts the risks, decisions, resistance and encounters behind the scenes of the corporate world. His personal experiences come to the fore, as does his commitment not merely to acquire companies, but to open up new perspectives and preserve value in the long term.
The selected passages vividly illustrated just how closely entrepreneurial determination, curiosity and a willingness to take risks can be intertwined. The subsequent talk gave rise to a lively discussion with the audience. The guests took the opportunity to ask questions about the experiences described, the challenges of corporate restructuring and Peter Löw’s personal career path. The open exchange made the evening an encounter that was as informative as it was inspiring.
Frankenberg Castle provided the perfect setting for this reading. As a place whose history is being continued through careful restoration, cultural commitment and entrepreneurial initiative, the castle resonated in a special way with the themes of the book. As part of the European Heritage Project, Peter Löw has transformed the once derelict estate back into a vibrant place for hospitality, culture and social interaction.
