The European Heritage Project Privacy Statement
Thank you for visiting our website.
Protecting your personal data is a top priority for us. This also applies to data generated when browsing our web pages, or personal details you entrust us with when using our services.
This is why we would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the guidelines for the protection of such personal data, which The European Heritage Project adheres to.
Definition of personal data
“Personal data” is defined as individual details (data) regarding the personal or factual circumstances of an identified (or identifiable) natural or legal person. Details which cannot be traced to yourself as a person (for example, due to anonymity, or if a pseudonym has been used) do not qualify as personal data.
Collection, processing, storage and disclosure of personal data
Each visit to our website may be recorded in a log, including such data as the IP address currently used by yourself, time and date of the visit, browser type, the operating system of your PC, and the pages you looked at. It is, however, not possible for us to relate this data to any specific person. We use this data for the purposes of statistical analyses, which are conducted within a short timeframe, and which are anonymous, in order to allow us to continuously improve our service offer and our website. Once these analyses have been carried out, the data is deleted. In no circumstances will we use this data for analyses related to individuals.
In line with all client data we handle, personal details provided by you are shielded by strict data protection rules. Such data will only be used for the purposes designated by you, and will be deleted once they are no longer needed for such purposes. We will not disclose your data to third parties.
Cookies
For its operation, our website may require the use of ‘cookies’ – small text files transferred from the website to your PC’s hard disk. Internet browsers are generally configured to automatically accept cookies. You can deactivate the storage of cookies, however; alternatively, you can set your browser to alert you in the event of a cookie being transmitted, or to prompt you to accept each cookie individually.
A “session cookie”, storing information relevant to the current session, will be generated and maintained throughout your visit to our website. The session cookie will be deleted automatically when you leave our website.
We may use permanent cookies to store your preferred language version and font size. In this way, your chosen options will be preserved for your next visit. Although permanent cookies will not be deleted automatically when leaving our website, you can remove them at any time. (Note that your chosen settings will be lost in this case.)
